“Greece 🇬🇷 ~Day One on Syros Island”

Our 30-Day medical Visa extension has been granted for both of us. But, the 30 extra days are to spent in Greece, only. In other words, we are unable to use these 30 days in any other EU country.  Our new visa expiration date went from June 9 to July 9.

Now that our mission is complete, and we do not have to leave Europe, tomorrow, I must come up with a travel plan for us. Here at Hermes Hotel in Syros, we added two more nights. The rental car will be delivered in 30 minutes and we will go exploring around the island.

We had no idea, how much we would like Syros, until after we arrived. We only knew we had to come for the visa, so I did not research. There are lots of old buildings, and the beautiful Aegean sea is all around. WiFi is not as good as the other islands, but oh well. It could very well be; there are more people, now, sharing the signals.

Church of Resurrection. We will go up there, tomorrow
Concrete platforms are a thing here, even if there is sand. Perhaps to accommodate more sunbathers, as the beaches are small in some places

We made the best of our half day of touring around the island. Syros seems to be a similar size to Santorini, so getting around is pretty easy. Tomorrow we have a full day to see everything we want to see, which includes some traditional old villages, so we are looking forward to that.

On Thursday, will will leave Syros, and probably take another ferry to “The Island of Miracles” ~Tinos. It’s only 45 minutes away, by ferry, so we decided we could handle that ride.

In the meantime, while we wait for the pathology report to come back on my surgery, on Santorini, we have this extra time. It’s great news the lockdown is over, and businesses are opening up. AND, we get to Island-hop after all.
