But at least this time, his security check was so easy! It’s been three months of travel, with lots of places, where our carry-ons got opened inspected, and questioned about! Today, they just went straight through, no issue! It was a welcome treat!
We land in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭 tonight… the exact city where Daryl and I fell 🥰 madly in love, at first glance and first conversation. Thailand will ALWAYS be special!
However, this trip, we hit the travel clinic for past-due immunizations (the big fail in India 🇮🇳 to get them). We have an appointment this time; no walk-ins. Next, we clear a storage locker we secured in Bangkok, but no longer need.
We only have one full day and two nights in Thailand 🇹🇭, but we will manage a Thai massage, before we depart….ya just can’t go to Thailand 🇹🇭 and not get a massage!
PS: Chelsie finally made it home to her family. Joey helped the kids make welcome home signs (too cute)!❤️ She did have a delay in Canada, due to all the cancelled flights since a major snow storm…AND one suitcase has disappeared! Arrrrr… our souvenirs and gifts for the grandchildren! We would learn, the bag was delivered to her home the next day. Whew!
Goodbye Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Thanks for the lovely visit! We shall miss you!
We are now back where we started from, over three weeks ago. Chelsie already few back to the states two days before our departure from Sri Lanka, so it was an adjustment for this mama, as we had so much fun together, and her energy was sadly missed!
The Colombo Airport is a 30 minute drive from here. Negombo is much quieter than the capital city, so it’s worth 30 minutes on the road, and the Leighton Hotel provides a free shuttle; to and from. We absolutely recommend this place.
We only stayed one night, back when we arrived in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, then we were up and on our way, early…they were nice to not charge us for the night we could not arrive for when our Mumbai flight was cancelled (with no apologies of reimbursements from Air Asia)
The next morning will come early, when we pack up again, and head for the Colombo Airport. More adventures await!
Plenty sightings during our four-hour boat tour. We had beautiful weather, following the storms of yesterday and last night. Since my computer decided it doesn’t want to work anymore, and my Nikon photos can’t be processed at the current time, I am adding photos the crew took of the boat trip, and an extra photo from the internet of what the Blue Whale looks like in its entirety. They are massive, but only a small portion of the whale shows, when they come to the surface; unless they breach. We’ve been on several whale watching excursions and have yet to see a whale breach, but we shall keep trying.
We saw Dolphins and several sightings of the largest Whale 🐳 in the world; The Blue Whale. This was a new whale watching experience for us! It was also quite special we saw the largest Land Mammal Sri Lanka has; the Wild Asian Elephant, and the Largest Marine Mammal it also has; the Blue Whale is not just the largest whale species, it is also the largest known animal in the world. Blue Whales can grow to be 98 feet in length, and they have been known to weigh upwards of 173 ton
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 is absolutely beautiful at every turn! Like Borneo, Malaysia 🇲🇾, it is a small island wonder, jam-packed with wildlife and gorgeous scenery!
The time has gone by way too fast, but Chelsie shall be returning home filled to the brim with memories. We made lots!
This afternoon, we have 90 minute massages to enjoy, then it will be early to bed, for a 2AM wake-up call to get Chelsie in a taxi, for the three-hour ride back to the Colombo Airport. She will start her journey back home from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰; go to Poland 🇵🇱, to Canada 🇨🇦, and finally the USA 🇺🇸, where her husband and three “Littles” will be anxiously awaiting her arrival! (she has been greatly missed)!
