“USA 🇺🇸 Louisiana ~Escargot, the Riverboat “City of New Orleans” Jazz Band Lunch Tour and More!”

The “City of New Orleans” Riverboat ⬆️

Now, today was a drama-free day…all day! We really needed that!! We had a blast!
We started late morning, with a stop at Galatoire’s in the French Quarter, for some Escargot.
SO YUM!

EXCELLENT!!

After that tasty treat of Escargot, we drove on over to find parking, for our Riverboat Jazz Tour. Come to find out, any parking near the water, where the riverboats are docked, and where the tour buses load from; for the Plantation Tours, at the Lighthouse,

is not free parking. One must somehow “know this,” without any signage, before arriving. We did not make the same mistake, twice, since we learned the hard way, yesterday, for our plantation tour, and are now in the know.

As we walked to the line of people, to get on the Riverboat, we walked past a few cars in the seemingly free parking spots, with “boots” on them, by early afternoon. What a racket this parking area is. A real money maker; preying on innocent and unaware tourists who are there, like us, spending money to boost the city’s economy…😡 rant over

We really enjoyed this Jazz Band Lunch Tour!
After we boarded, we went to the dining room and were promptly served a nice hot lunch. It was good.

After we ate, we wandered around the boat and settled in some chairs on the shaded side, while we cruised the Mississippi River.
The Jazz Band’s music was played throughout the cruise, on a loudspeaker, so one did not need to sit inside where the band played, and it was enjoyable to listen to many old favorites of Louis Armstrong and Fats Domino.

There were a lot of people on this boat, today, which was a surprise, since it was not the weekend. We would later learn the “Nechez Riverboat” was docked for an inspection, so all their bookings joined our boat.

The newest addition to the New Orleans riverfront and sister vessel of the Steamboat NATCHEZ, is the “CITY of NEW ORLEANS” docks in the heart of the French Quarter. The totally renovated Riverboat operates daily brunch cruises for a 2-hour cruise down the Mississippi River. Live narration, calliope concerts, and live music on all cruises.

Day was done, and we headed back to The Whale at the French Quarter RV Park, which is a gated RV location, and it was very convenient to the French Quarter.

Then, we were WOWED with a beautiful sunrise, tonight!!!!

Tomorrow, we depart Louisiana for Mississippi and Alabama
