“USA 🇺🇸 North Carolina ~Merry Christmas 2023 and More!!”

Christmas is always a special time of year. This year was extra, because of getting to spend it with our grandchildren.

Our lifestyle keeps us on the move, normally, over the past seven years, so staying in one place, like we are right now, feels quite different, but we will get to spend so much time with our East Coast family, because of it!

We spent Christmas afternoon and Eve, together. The kiddos got to open one present, each, from GrandPaPa and MeMa. We got them matching PJ’s. They looked adorable in them, and they were certainly excited!

We returned to the household, on a cool, crisp Christmas morning, at about 7:30AM. The Christmas excitement was in full swing. It was so fun to just sit back and take it all in! ….being all together. What a joy!

We got the grands sleeping bags, among other things. so now, when they do sleep overs with us in The Whale, they can bring them!

Joey (SIL) was even around on Christmas, which surprised me, since he is, once again; low man on the totem pole these days, in his new career, as an EMT/ Paramedic. He works a lot of different shifts, now, so it was nice he actually had Christmas off. (Joeys Marine Corps career, of 23 years, came to an end, when he retired last summer, for a job well done)!

All the presents were a hit, and then it was many hours of relaxation, with naps for the grownups and the kids enjoying their new “stuff.”

They day passed by and soon it was time to get Christmas dinner on the table. Daryl and I brought the Prime Rib roast to barbecue up, and it was hit! The rest of the meal was scrumptious too!

To note: McKenzie said the prayer before dinner. It about brought tears to my eyes. All three kids are very much aware of Jesus and what the real reason for this season is all about. Kenz certainly put into words, all the important aspects of the day, plus world concerns of those in need.

🙏
