“Romania Castle Corvin in Hunedoara”

As overseer of thy Lady Bunny, we departed for our most important destination, a Royal Residence in the safety of one of the most preserved castle in Romania.

I was tasked with driving our carriage to our Regal destination. Our Lady of the Maps led us to our destination, but the last demand was a right on a one way cobbled street. I froze to contemplate, then proceeded. A short drive up a potholed cobbled street, we parked at the base of the path to the castle.

The Regal Estate stood proudly against the backdrop of a clear crisp day with only a handful of wispy clouds to dot the sky. The crisp lines of the castle are intact and roofs are apparently new. Some of the furnishings are your everyday run-of-the mill torture room decor: a stretcher, shackles and cages.

Some of the doors looked original and time-worn. Many rooms are laid-out with furnishings to perform certain tasks, like sewing, sleeping and eating, and normal King duties. The blacksmith and carpenter rooms were something I could relate to. The game room was interesting, with stuffed animals and furs. We had a grand time exploring all the nooks, crannies and towers.

After leaving town, we found a huge old church called Bistrica Cathedral. The murals were darkened by time and the burning of candles. The walls were so dark our naked eyes could not make out the scenes. Our cameras can see better than we do, so it was very interesting to see the photos. We are surprised that this cathedral was finished in 1946, for it looks much older with everything being so dark.

We continued on, to see a carving of Dancian King Decebalus. On the way we see many ornate huge homes with the most stylized roofs like we have never seen. We were passing through a town of Buzescu with the homes of wealthy Gypsies. These homes are the most unique mansions in all of Europe. Now that we know about them, I wish we would have stopped to take better pictures, but road construction had the traffic backed up.

It was Friday night and finding a hotel with vacancies was very difficult, but after driving into the night, we found one and
