“Greece 🇬🇷 ~As it Turns Out”
It’s been almost a month, since we arrived in Greece. It’s hard to believe, overall, but our days still go speeding by; even on lockdown.
Once I got over the disappoint, and went through a “sad phase,” of staying in one place because of closed borders, instead of being able to travel our dream trips, in and around many parts of Europe, I got okay with the situation. We both did, and even more so, we feel like we have been afforded a gift, really. We truly have nothing to complain about. Our losses don’t chalk up to anything close to those who are, and continue to be innocently suffering unimaginable loss, due to this pandemic. We are healthy and content, this is all that really matters.
Because we have been so focused on adventuring. and on the steady go, go, go, for over two years, we had forgotten what it was like to actually just “be” in one place and the many perks of that existence. We have a full kitchen, full-size refrigerator, and washing machine. We are not living out of suitcases, because we have drawers and closets. We get to eat our own home-cooked meals, like we haven’t enjoyed in years! We are sleeping well, and relaxing in the same comfy bed, every single night. We have working WIFI; every day, and so much peace and quiet, our ears ring from the lack of noise. We are reading books, napping some more, then writing, watching Netflix shows, and driving a car again. There is no more packing up and moving from place to place at this time. No airports or planes, taxis, buses trains or ferries.
We are embracing these new set of circumstances, for the best parts, and the change of pace very much! We are also extra grateful to wait our border closures on a beautiful island with zero COVID19 cases.
That being said, we will be “rearin” to go again, as soon as our world is healthy, and the borders open!
