“Egypt 🇪🇬 ~The Red Sea in Hurghada”

We chose to end our time In Egypt at an all-inclusive resort on the coastline of The Red Sea called Makadi Bay. The property was lovely, and for an underdeveloped country, it was a mostly enjoyable stay.

We flew from Luxor, via Cairo, to Hurghada. We found ourselves in a resort that is operated by a German company, where the guests were all German… some guests coming year after year around this time, to rd she their cold winters. English was not a chosen language at all, but we got by. It was “assumed” we were also German, when staff and other guests spoke to us in German. We would correct, and confirm we were Americans; to great astonishment, because, apparently, Americans do not frequent Hurghada.

We relaxed, and enjoyed about five days of our time, through Valentines Day in a bungalow by the water. We did have plans to dive in the Red Sea, but between the cold weather (very chilly seas) and the fact I’m recovering from a bout of Pneumonia, it wasn’t meant to be.
