“USA 🇺🇸 Nevada ~Our Time in Las Vegas”

Las Vegas, Nevada USA 🇺🇸

We really enjoyed some very fun, down-time in Las Vegas!! It was great to stay in one spot for awhile and just play!
We stayed at the Sams Town KOA again, and it was great.

⬆️ The name of the game in hot weather is having a great awning set-up to offer shade (both sides)
We have three A/C units, as well. Truth be known: Typically, the RV A/C’s will only keep RV 20 degrees cooler on the inside, than what the outside temperature is.

⬆️ A handy pool is not a bad option to cool off in, either!

You Know I’ve Got to Mention ⬇️
…Typical after our arrival, just about anywhere we go…
“Where’d the sunshine go?”
This storm, in arid dry Las Vegas, was not even on the radar. It just came out of the blue, the next day after our arrival.
It was suppose to last only a few minutes. We are over an hour in, and it’s been full-on pouring.

Friendships ❤️
My friend of 46 years, Lisa, and her husband have a place in Las Vegas, and it worked out that we could come back to Vegas, when they were also in town; since we missed them on our other trips, in recent past, when visiting here.

Lisa and I had a very fun girls night, meeting up at Harrahs to take in dinner, a show and lots of fabulous conversation!

It was the perfect evening! We ate at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, yum! …then it was off to the “Menopause Musical.”

No photos allowed in the theater, during the show, but we had front row seats

What a hoot this show was!
I laughed out-loud and any woman 50 and over can seriously relate. There were several men in the audience too… great insight for them? This show has run for 16 years on the strip.
Tonight was the 6,500th show!
The evening went so fast and all too soon we got in different Ubers and back to our homes.

The next night, Daryl and I went to dinner at Lisa and Dave’s place. WOWZA….and what a place!!
It is in the lovely Summerlin area, after all.
Outside of a delicious dinner and more fun conversations in their palatial apartment, Lisa gave us the tour of the entire building with all its perks. There are private rooms for those who live there, for just about every imaginable thing: chef kitchen, movie theatre, wine cooler, spa, outside pool, inside pool, workout gym, meeting rooms, library, and game rooms. Now this place is styling!!
What fun!

Before we left for the evening, I got some beautiful sunset photos, with the Vegas Strip in the background.
So pretty! ⬇️

The next night, Daryl and I hit-up the strip to see “WOW-The Vegas Spectacular” Show at the Rio. ⬇️

It was a good show and a little bit like a musical with circus performers.

I also played my “go to” Poker on the machines in the Rio, and won $350.
Not bad for a $20 investment on this night.

The following week, Lisa and Dave came to The Whale for dinner ⬇️

A Girls Day Out

By late morning I was back at Lisa’s place.
Together, we drove to the downtown area of Summerville. We did some shopping and had a yummy lunch.

We both had no idea where the time went, and before we knew it, I had to get another Uber to the Beetle Barn to pick up Jonah, because Daryl texted me that she was ready!
Yay!
Lisa and I got to spend so much quality time, together, on this trip! What a treat that was. It has been over two years since we all spent time together, at their place in Hawaii
FLASHBACK ⬆️
Where does the time go, really?

Oh Jonah ⬇️
The original plan was to be in Las Vegas for about five days, while we also got Jonah in to the shop to get her front-end work done. (it was a diagnosis made in Alaska, but no parts available, in short order).
Well, getting this part was tricky, here in Nevada, too. So, we had to extend our time at the KOA in Sams Town, until parts could be found and delivered, to get our Bug fixed.
Obviously, we aren’t leaving without Jonah.
It was challenging being in Vegas for seven days without a vehicle, but it was necessary to get this final fix done, that would get us back on the road with proper alignment (sway bar work done and steering, too).
Due to our overstay in Vegas, we had to cut our next stop by two nights, but at least the one night will still breakup our drive through Arizona, to make our overall drive to Mexico, much easier.
We did have three RV Park reservations in Arizona, after Nevada, as we make our way to the Mexico border, but the delay in Vegas put a monkey wrench into our first stop for sure.
The drive time to the border is what I was trying to break up, nicely, making it more fun, because we are both tired of it the long drive days, yet, after our Alaska trip. But, it is what it is, and we will make it work.
We always do.

Daryl has been quite happy riding his e-bike, again. I’m super glad he has his bike again, too. With Jonah at the mechanics, Daryl can get to the grocery store, and keep us stocked up that way.
Unfortunately, on such a run to the store, as Daryl was riding his bike on a sidewalk, crossing across an entry/exit of a business from an main road, a lady in a car nailed him. She was not even paying attention.
I thank God all the time for his protection on that bike, as we go about our daily lives. Today was no exception.
Daryl got a scraped up palm on his hand, and his leg, and yes, he was wearing his helmet. To add insult to injury, the lady couldn’t take the proper time to deal with the situation and left the scene! She refused to give Daryl her driver’s license and insurance card. Somehow he managed to get a copy of her passport.
Yeah, suspishhhh.
While Lisa and I were having lunch, Daryl was at the hospital getting checked-out, then at the bike shop to get his bike fixed, then to a lawyer office to get help finding the crazy lady that hit him.
The passport proved to be vital and the lawyer figured out who she is and promptly made contact. In the meantime we have our own insurance to cover expenses. Daryl is obviously very sore, and his back is tweaked, but he is alive, thank God!!

Today we leave Nevada and head for Arizona.
