“USA 🇺🇸 Alaska ~in Haines with Sunrise At the Harbor”

We’ve had very few morning where we can get sunrise, between the midnight sun and the clouds/rain. As fall get closer, there will be normal sunrise and sunsets. By winter, there will be months of darkness with no light.

This morning was perfect!
I’m glad I got to capture the beauty with the tranquility, all around.

As I was taking photos, this Eagle was right below me, someplace next to the still water of the harbor. I did not know this at the time. When he flew up from the bank, my camera was pointed, elsewhere. Missed him when he was 8 feet from me, but nabbed a few shots, as he few off to a roosting tree.

By the way: Haines Alaska is known for the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, being home of the Southeast Alaska State Fair, the world’s only Hammer Museum, and one of the largest congregations of Bald Eagles in the World.

Yesterday, we enjoyed a fun tour at the very unique place: Kroschel Wildlife Park. That’s the next blog if I have any luck with wifi…

Today, we go “Bear Viewing” at a salmon weir, nearby.
