“Bulgaria, and Black Sea Resort Time”

We found ourselves next to the Black Sea. A archeologists from a leading University in California is coming out with a book. His research has lead him to believe that Bulgaria and the Black Sea area is the real birthplace of humanity. Mesopotamia has this distinction up to this point. During the Ice-age 10,600 years ago the rising sea caused a floods that washed salt water through the Bospherous Straits into the Black Sea. Prior to that the Black Sea was a fresh water lake.

The deep abyss appears to be black during storms and chaotic seas. Sailors of the past, gave it the name of the Black Sea.

We sit near the shore of this mysterious sea having our  dinner. We were pretending this was our first date. Just as we did this, and things started getting clumsy. That’s how it works. I am looking into her eyes at the reflection of the sparkles coming off the sea. Birds are flying overhead, I look up and a Seagull (rats of the Sea) is swooping by. Something landed between my lemonade and salad. The sparkles disappear and a look of discussed strikes my face. Bunny does not know what happened. I secretly wipe up the mess.

As we are eating I am looking over every piece of my salad, the lemonade was clear. Bunny started throwing pieces of bread up to feed the Flying Fortresses. I am getting freaked out. One landed on top of our umbrella, it is sliding and dancing on the umbrella as She was sending offerings to my nemesis. Their feet look so funny shuffling against the fabric’s translucent deck. My nervous temperament is getting irrational as every bird is after me.

I must confess, when I was twenty I was walking with friends on the beach. Something fishy landed on my upper lip. My reflexes were fast, within the next second I was in the ocean. My friends were confused as there was no indication as to what happened.

Outside of our hotel, six stories below is a perfectly laid out sea of umbrellas and reclining beach chairs. During the day everyone of them are full of sun worshippers. Kids are splashing in the waveless, salty sea. Sea birds fly the waves of wind currents, rising against the seven story hotel we are staying in. The effortless flight, not moving their wings, with just a flick can dive or swoop at their whim. The Seagulls are slow, but the minute swifts have to work harder, but move like a military plane.
