“Turkey 🇹🇷 ~Easy Like Sunday Morning”
The sun is rising as bright and clear as a gaze would be, into a Chrystal ball.
The gaze tells me, go hither and explore! I set out over the pedestrian bridge across the waters of Bosphorus, and witnessed a glorious sunrise. Walking at a brisk pace, I hit black ice, adding an extra dimension of exercise to my morning. Unsure, after that, I tested the ice and found fine cracks in the thin envelope that separated me from a sure foot without calamity. I avoid the possibility of kissing the pavement whenever I can.
The streets are empty, as I wander the cobblestones into backroads filled with ancient relics of the past. Sunday’s are good days for wandering. Far less people out and about. These are tired structures from old Constantinople. (the original name of the capital city). An ancient Mosque awaits me at the crest of the hill.
I followed the curved cobblestone streets and once again, find myself in the bazaar. Shop owners are setting up their goods for the Sunday shoppers. The spice market filled my senses with a concoction of teas and Turkish spices. The candy and nut store tempted me, as I salivate at the visual of it all.
An English speaking shop owner from Azerbaijan talks me into a mix of Turkish candy, filled with nuts and honey. I tire from my long walk of a 7000 step, trek, and head back to our far afield home.
Bunny is gonna ring my neck for buying the candy!
