“Turkey 🇹🇷 ~Happy in Istanbul”

Up at 1AM, to catch an early flight from Hurghada, Egypt 🇪🇬 to Istanbul, we have now arrived, and are comfortably set up in a lovely flat in central Istanbul; a place we will call home, for the next month.

It’s cold, as we knew it would be, and we have good WiFi to get some work done, while enjoying the beautiful view, and being surrounded by old history and architecture. There is a convenient Metro station right across the road, and will will learn the lines that will easily connect us to this interesting city.

We have never been to Turkey, but we already know we are going to love our time here! This will be one of two visits for us, as we will return, again, in the summer; after five months of Eu and non-Eu country visits, to enjoy traveling to other places in Turkey; outside Istanbul. The weather will be much improved by then, making it more pleasant to tour in.

This narrow, natural strait and internationally significant waterway is located in northwestern Turkey. It forms part of the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, and divides Turkey by separating Anatolia from Thrace

Currently, we are trying to wrap up phase 2 of our web design for this travel blog. With an interactive map and archiving system put in place, we have much work ahead for us to upload many, many, many years of world travel; to have all our adventures easily accessible in one media location.
Phase 1 got us up and running with “what’s current” in our globetrotting, with our proper introduction and links to “all things” travel photography and storytelling from #teamsaunders
We will not get too far from Istanbul on this first visit, as it’s cold and rainy this time of the year. We see Turkish Bath visits in our future, and when we do get a break in the weather, we will definitely get out and explore this fine city.
