“Thailand 🇹🇭 ~The Royal Palace in Bangkok, is Where it All Began for Us”
Just over four years ago, Daryl and I met on the grounds of this Palace, and fell in Love 🥰 Every time we come back to Bangkok, we make sure to go by it. Last time, we did so by boat on the Chao Phraya River, that runs behind the grounds.
Incidentally, today it is a Happy Birthday to one of the Kings today; from another era! Kings are still being recognized by the Thai people; both alive, and those who have passed. The spectacular Grand Palace is undoubtedly the most famous landmark in Bangkok, today.
It was built in 1782 and for 150 years was the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government. The Grand Palace has beautiful architecture and intricate detail, all of which are a proud salute to the creativity and craftsmanship of the Thai people. Within its walls is also where the Thai war ministry, state departments, and even the mint operated.
Today, the complex remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.
