“Egypt 🇪🇬 ~The Temple of Deir el-Medina”

The Temple of Deir el-Medina. The main temple, standing within the enclosure wall, was built and decorated in the 3rd century BC. The work was started during the reign of Ptolemy IV Philopater and it was continued for the next 60 years under Ptolemy VI Philometer and Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II
The walk from the workers tomb to this temple went through ruins that were other temples of this area, during its time
Inside The Temple of Deir el-Medina
Everywhere we went on tour, there were men who were quite bothersome. If they weren’t pushing their water on us, they would “act” as a tour guide; that we did not ask for, following us around like a shadow. They were in our way for of our picture-taking, then they would want paid for their services. When we asked them to go away, some did, some did not
Walking past this temple, we saw evidence of the ancient workers, who dug very deep through rock and sand, to reach water. There is currently no water in this deep abyss
View from the deep hole, back at The Temple of Deir el-Medina
Many piles of old pottery shards from ancient times. I may, or may not have found a few treasures
Digging for water, near The Temple of Deir el-Medina was quite doable, since the Nile is not far
It’s easy to know where the Nile is located, as the starkness of green, against the bleached and arid sans of the desert is easy to notice
